It is estimated that, by 2025, nearly 33 million Americans will be working remotely. As a remote business ourselves, we have had to get creative when it comes to company outings. Read along as we talk about some of the great virtual team building activities that you do to boost morale and work relationships!

Open Office Hours

One of the best things we’ve done as a team is host optional virtual office hours every Wednesday. This is a time when Heather, our trusty CEO, is online and available to chat. Want to discuss a client? We can do that! Have an idea about a blog post or want to develop in your role? We can do that, too! Having a regularly scheduled time to meet – if employees want to – is key to making everyone feel included and involved.

Feature the Team in Posts

BlueHuki regularly features our team in posts on social media and our blogs. We’ve done everything from National Dog Day to Holiday Traditions. Sharing these stories with one another and with our clients brings us together as a team. While we may not share office space, we have found that we do share traditions, pets, and more. It helps us feel connected though we’re scattered across the globe.

Create a Recognition Team

Another idea for virtual team building is to recognize your teammates. Whether it’s celebrating a work anniversary, acknowledging the loss of a pet or family member, or “just because,” we have a team that regularly sends gifts and cards to other team members. These simple nods of recognition have gone a long way to building a close knit team.
